Info for Volunteers

Thanks for signing up and being willing to help out with this great work. Please review the notes below so you can be familiar with what's going on during the time that you will be helping us out.  If you haven't signed up yet, you can do so using our Volunteer Sign-up Form.

Thursday, August 21

Meet at 7 pm at Claire's house (address will be given via email reminder). Bring a truck or van if you have one. We'll load up and then head to the church to unload. We'll also need to pick up donations that have been taken to the McAllister home (which is in a housing development across the street from the church).

Once donations have been unloaded we'll need to set up tables and clothing racks. We should be done by 9 pm.

Friday, August 22

There are three shifts on Friday. We will be spending the day sorting through donations; organizing all the clothes, toys, books, household items, etc, making it as easy as possible for our patrons to find what they need.

Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

If you'll have young children with you we'll have a room set up with a babysitter, toys and VeggieTales movies in the morning. There will be no babysitters in the evening.

Saturday, August 23 (The BIG Event)

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your shift for an orientation and instructions. Volunteers should wear a red shirt if possible (come early enough to find one in the stacks, if you need to *wink*). We will provide name tags so that you will be easily identified as a volunteer. Please wear comfortable shoes.

Volunteers on the first two shifts will be helping patrons find what they need, folding, refolding, and folding again in an attempt to keep the clothing tables tidy and attractive. The third shift will be doing much of the same, but will also include clean-up and break-down.
